Our Story

Ezo goes everywhere. She's a husky — sweet, energetic, and completely convinced that wherever I'm headed, she's coming too. If there's a door open, she's already in the car before I've grabbed my keys.

The hike that started Larkhound wasn't anything special — just one of our regular trips that ended the way a lot of them do with a husky: soaked from the water, mud caked up her legs, and just as much energy as when we started. By the time we got back to the car, the damage was done. Muddy paw prints and water all over the seats, and hair working its way into every seam. The stains never fully came out. The car was never quite the same.

That was the moment I stopped shrugging it off. I went looking for gear that could actually handle a dog like Ezo, and kept finding products that looked right in a photo and fell short everywhere else.

I've spent the last several months doing the research to fix that — comparing materials, vetting suppliers, being honest with myself about what's actually worth putting in front of another dog owner. Larkhound is a new, small brand, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. What I can tell you is that everything here gets chosen because it needs to survive an actual muddy, hairy, over-excited husky — not just a photoshoot.
